You’re invited to our second BBQ 🍔 on Sunday May 5th, 🥗 at the Archimedesplantsoen plot!🍺

Only 5 weeks left until the final deadline ⏳ — so we’d like to see you before the crunch time begins! 🧨

We’ll meet the neighbours, 🤝 share all the latest updates 📬 and suggest ways to get involved. 🙋‍♂️ All ages welcome! 👩‍👧‍👦

  • 12:00 — regular meeting at NieuwLand 💻
  • 15:00 — preparations for BBQ, help is welcome! 🧺
  • 16:00 — BBQ at Archimedesplantsoen 🌳
  • 16:30 — presentation to neighbours (in Dutch) 📣

In case the weather goes horribly wrong 🌪 (and you can’t find us at the location), we’ll be holding the BBQ and presentation in NieuwLand instead! ☔️

Last Saturday, we were around 20 people to celebrate the first victory. 🎯
And we immediately started making plans for the next stage of dNM! 🧩

If you couldn’t attend and would like to catch up, three things:

To get involved, a few actions you can take:

  • For the upcoming 3 months, every Sunday is reserved at NieuwLand to build our community and to work on the application. Of course not everyone is expected to attend every meeting, workshop or presentation, but you are always welcome to the potluck ☕️ brunch 🥐 at 🥑 noon!
  • We want to build a larger follower base for our adventure. Please tell your friends about it and share the dNM Facebook page in your circles! We are especially looking for all kinds of financial wizardry: 🧙‍♂️ accountants, 🦸🏽‍♀️ fundraisers, 🧞‍♂️ crowdfunders 🧚‍♀️ (not to mention rich relatives! 👸🏻) will be extremely helpful in the coming period.
  • Finally, please get back on Slack 🕹 if you’d like to get involved! We will reduce the frequency of newsletters and share weekly updates via Slack.

Help us build a postcapitalist urban commune in Amsterdam Oost!

First callout, 20 March 2018:

We are at the very early stages of what could become our next great adventure: co-creating sustainable, collective living for ourselves and loved ones. Concretely, we are interested in applying for a tender to develop a self-built, circular social housing —right here, in Amsterdam Oost. Since this is wildly ambitious, we are aware we cannot do it alone: we need your wisdom, inspiration and perhaps even participation!
Could you take a few minutes to flex your network muscle? Think about who we should collaborate with, who may have the skills we need, or who is a great fit for the art of living we wish to create. Fundraisers, wordsmiths, inventors, facilitators, pirates —we count on your magic of free association!
